MADE FROM WOOD AND GLUED TOGETHER LIKE AN OVERSIZED MODEL KIT, IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE AN AIRCRAFT LESS LIKELY TO BECOME ONE OF THE GREATEST WARPLANES OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR. Yet the airframe of the De Havilland Mosquito was supremely adaptable and the ‘Wooden Wonder' went on to fulfil as many combat roles as could be imagined – from light bomber carrying ‘blockbuster' bombs to rocket-carrying shipbuster to covert spyplane.
